Michio Kaku lecture

Professor Michio Kaku discusses the PHYSICS OF THE IMPOSSIBLE as part of the St Cross lecture series.

Professor Michio Kaku, of the City University of New York, is the co-founder of string field theory and has written a number of best-selling popular science books including ‘Hyperspace’ and ‘Parallel Worlds’. He's also a contributor to The Sunday Times, New Scientist, Time, and the Wall Street Journal and presented the BBC's popular series Time and Visions of the Future, and the Discovery Channel's TV series 2057.

In his talk he explored the real science behind ideas such as time travel, anti-matter, force fields, teleportation, star ships and invisibility. Believing that 'anything that is not impossible is mandatory!' he told us that many of the fascinating technologies of science fiction are actually allowed by the laws of physics.

The St Cross Science Lecture Series 2009 presented by Professor Michio Kaku took place 29 May 2009 at Oxford's Said Business School.
