Did Goldman Sachs Greed Trump Global Warming Emergency to Cause BP's "Spill Baby Spill" ?

Why did Obama encourage BIG OIL to continue to Drill Baby Drill at a time when the Global Warming Climate Emergency has gone way past deadline?  Why are we still fighting a trillion dollar war in Afghanistan in conquest of Gas and Oil reserves instead of constructing windmills?  Where are the Solar panel and alternative energy manufacturing jobs that could put Americans back to work? WTF?

Chief Global Warming Scientist James Hansen decided to boycott the 2009 UN/IPCC conference. Hansen maintined the Kyoto style "Cap and Trade"on CO2 production was already a demonstrated failure that had actually increased, rather than decreased anthropomorphic CO2 emissions in Japan. The fundamental problem is that fossil fuels are still the cheapest form of energy.  "As long as they are, they are going to be used," he said,

Hansen dismisses government announcements of national targets for greenhouse gas emissions as promises that will not be kept, noting that even Japan missed its goals under the Kyoto Protocol. In 2008, Hansen said that it would be better for the summit to fail rather than reach the type of cap and trade-based system envisaged.

So-called "carousel fraud" can be committed on any goods, but carbon allowances are particularly susceptible because they are high value, intangible and easily traded between different countries.

Isn’t it odd that Goldman Sachs, an investment bank on Wall Street would care about climate change? Indeed why should they even care about it? The answer would be more apparent if one considers Goldman Sachs’ involvement in cap and trade.

Also known as "missing trader" fraud, it has previously involved goods such as mobile phones and computer chips imported VAT-free from EU member states. These are then sold in the UK, including a VAT (Value Added Tax) charge, but the trader then typically goes missing without paying the taxman. The Treasury removed VAT from carbon credits on July 31, 2009 as a temporary measure until the European Union works out a common policy to tackle fraudsters. Companies now need permits to emit carbon dioxide as part of the global fight against climate change and polluters are granted a certain number of emissions allowances that can be traded.

Instead of targeting CO2, the Carbon trading schemes are engineered by the likes of Goldman Sachs to produce market "bubbles" as a virtual repeat of the commodities-market casino except for a New World Order twist: If the plan goes forward as expected, the rise in prices will be government-mandated. Goldman won't even have to rig the game. It will be rigged in advance.

Cliff Stearns Challenges BP on Bogus Assurances of Oil Spill Containment.

On May 12th, Rep. Cliff Stearns, a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, participated in an Oversight Investigation Subcommittee hearing on the Oil spill. Stearns pointedly questioned the CEO of BP, Lamar McKay. Stearns noted that in its application to explore the site, BP claimed that it could control a spill reaching up to 300,000 barrels a day. McKay then answered Stearns that the current spill amounts to only 5,000 barrels a day and was unable to explain why BP could not control a spill far less than 300,000 barrels a day.

This article looks at the workings of mass media through the theories of its major thinkers, its power structure and the techniques it uses, in order to understand its true role in society.

Most of the articles on this site discuss occult symbolism found in objects of popular culture. From these articles arise many legitimate questions relating to the purpose of those symbols and the motivations of those who place them there, but it is impossible for me to provide satisfactory answers to these questions without mentioning many other concepts and facts. I've therefore decided to write this article to supply the theoretical and methodological background of the analyzes presented on this site as well as introducing the main scholars of the field of mass communications. Some people read my articles and think I'm saying "Lady Gaga wants to control our minds". That is not the case. She is simply a small part of the huge system that is the mass media.

One of the real heroes of ''Grass,'' Ron Mann's punchy and enjoyable new documentary on the history of marijuana in the United States during the 20th century, is Mayor Fiorello H. La Guardia of New York. While Harry J. Anslinger, the federal government's first drug czar, spent his career looking for a way to pin as many evils on marijuana as he could, and punishing those who disagreed with him, La Guardia calmly commissioned a study on marijuana use. The study concluded that ''the sociological, psychological and medical ills commonly attributed to marijuana have been exaggerated insofar as the City of New York is concerned.'' It's no wonder that an airport was named after him.

''Grass,'' which opens today at the Film Forum, begins with the adoption of anti-marijuana laws as part of an institutionalized racism toward Mexicans in the Southwest early in the century. Eventually, the film says, the laws were a bludgeon against anyone who threatened the status quo: the young during the 1960's, and before that, entertainers like Robert Mitchum and Gene Krupa. ''Grass'' misses out by not including a clip from the ''The Gene Krupa Story,'' a middlebrow attempt to depict the lurid world of jazz in 1959.

''Grass'' offers meticulous sound design, and some snappy graphics put together by the film's art director, Paul Mavrides, who once toiled in the underground comics world. There's a brief, unidentified cameo by the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers, the cannabis heroes of the comics whose adventures Mr. Mavrides helped depict.

The picture is broken up into sections recounting the varying official takes on the effects of marijuana, like its leading to insanity, heroin abuse, Communism and finally, indolence. The movie doesn't focus exclusively on the gaunt, wide-eyed stereotype of the pot addict, though it does use that image to score a number of laughs. There are views of maniacal pot smokers like those that appeared in the 1950's publications of E.C. Comics, which figured prominently in ''Comic Book Confidential,'' one of Mr. Mann's early films.

Like ''Comic Book Confidential'' and Mr. Mann's documentary ''Twist,'' ''Grass'' fixes on a frightened mainstream reaction to a cultural phenomenon and a overzealous, singleminded crusader. . Anslinger lends himself to the Javert treatment; it doesn't help that he, and most of the other law enforcement officers shown here, all age to look like J. Edgar Hoover.

The film is narrated by the celebrity weed aficionado Woody Harrelson, whose very name in the credits will ensure a laugh from audiences. But ''Grass'' doesn't just limit itself to easy potshots like showing scenes from the infamous ''Reefer Madness'' (1936), although it does use a number of the propaganda films that sought to frighten the naive. In those overwrought little dramatizations, marijuana smokers were driven to rape, violence and in the 1960's, even to the shocking implication of miscegenation. The film also leaps ahead to the days of ''Just Say No,'' just to show that the swing of the anti-pot pendulum in the other direction was useless.

''Grass'' is a huge step forward in cool and confidence for Mr. Mann, who makes his case here with seductive, fun Pop Art graphics and very smart use of music and clips: Cab Calloway and other jazz hipsters are among those seen extolling the virtues of marijuana, though Rick James, whose ''Busting Out'' is heard on the soundtrack, probably isn't exactly the best choice for a pro-pot poster child. President Richard M. Nixon, to show his tough-on-crime stance, is seen waging his own war against pot and deputizing another unlikely drug warrior, Elvis Presley.

With its pointed narrative, the film makes its case with a minimum of pushiness and a subtle nod to its crowd. ''Grass'' begins and ends with the credits, as if assuming its target audience might suffer short-term memory loss for some reason.

This is a very serious movie and I volunteered to appear in it, April 22, 2008
I must disclose that I came into this movie at the very end when the brilliant producer realized I could provide a few bits that would bring it all together. I volunteered my time because I felt then--and I feel now--that this film was totally righteous. So I am listed as one of the "actors" but unlike some of them for whom file clips were used, I was taped speaking about this specific situation for this specific movie.

Our government is BROKEN. The civil servants and uniformed personnel are good people trapped in a bad system--a cesspool. Standing above them, hoarding the wealth, the power, and the personal privilege, are "elected" officials and their appointed cronies that have no business at all governing this great nation. They are inept and should be dismissed. We need a Constitutional Convention, an end to the Elctoral College, and deep Electoral, Financial, and National Security Reforms.

I have tagged this DVD with the word treason, because that is what CIA, DEA, the FBI, and the White House are guilty of when they protect drug wholesalers and allow entire neighborhoods to go down the crack drain, not because of Ricky Ross, but because of high crimes and misdemeanors all the way up the chain above him.

In my world, accountability is supposed to start and be enforced from the top down, not the bottom up. I hold John Deutch and later George Tenet accountable for failing to manage all five of the CIAs (the Wall Street CIA, the White House CIA, the front CIA, the paramilitary CIA, and the sodomy Safari Club CIA). I can only imagine the counterparts in DEA and the FBI and other elements of the government with the power to commit treason and get away with it while making a personal profit from the power We the People have assigned to them.

MADEIRA BEACH — A commercial fisherman towed a military practice drone from the Gulf of Mexico to a marina here Monday, deputies said.

Pinellas sheriff's deputies said Glenn Edward Davis, 62, of Seminole, hauled the drone about 60 miles behind his boat, the Miss Rita, to the Holiday Isle Marina, at 555½ 150th Ave.

The carbon fiber drone is about 20 feet long and 15 feet wide at its widest part, deputies said. It has a jet engine, is orange and white, and is designed to be shot down by fighter jets.

The drone was not dangerous. "It wasn't carrying anything explosive and didn't appear to have any immediate threat to anyone, said Cecilia Barreda, spokeswoman for the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

Still, authorities kept the public away as a military explosives team from MacDill Air Force Base examined the drone. Lt. Mark Graff, a spokesman for MacDill, said the drone belongs to Eglin Air Force Base, just east of Pensacola. The military regularly conducts aircraft and weapons testing there.

More information is being learned about the Air Force equipment found on a beach near Fort Morgan. According to Captain Carrie Kessler, at Eglin Air Force Base, the drone is an aerial target that is shot down as part of a weapons system evaluation program. It poses no danger to the public. They usually try and recover the drones right away but in this case, sometimes it just isn’t possible. Military officials are on their way to retrieve the drone at this time. It is not known when the target was shot down and that may not be able to be determined even after the target is recovered.

The Fort Morgan Fire Department says the drone went down in the water near The Beach Club. The Air Force has a crew on the way to the crash site and so does News 5. We'll bring you more information as soon as we get it.

- The Air Force tries to recover the drones right away. But that apparently did not happen in this case.

- The drone was found by two men on Spring Break who were swimming in the Gulf. They told News 5's Pat Peterson that if the Air Force doesn't show up to get it, they'll sell the drone on eBay.

6:15 p.m. -- Based on the description News 5 gave to the Air Force, a spokesperson for Tyndall Air Force Base says she believes the drone is something pilots use for target practice during training missions.
5:35 p.m. -- News 5's Pat Peterson is at the crash site. He says the orange drone appears to be about 12 feet long. It also has Air Force markings on it.

5:25 p.m. -- The Coast Guard tells News 5 an unmanned Air Force drone has crashed off the coast of Fort Morgan.

Drones May Be Used in Gulf of Mexico
TITUSVILLE, Fla., Feb. 22 , 2010 (UPI) -- The U.S. Coast Guard commander says unarmed drones may be used in the Gulf of Mexico for drug surveillance and rescue efforts.
Admiral Thad W. Allen said drones will be tested at the Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, starting in March, with the intent of using them on missions in the gulf, The St. Petersburg (Fla.) Times said Sunday.

Eight years have passed since fighter pilots last "locked on" to "enemy" targets and dueled in the skies over the Gulf of Mexico during a William Tell exercise.

The Air Force's many global commitments contributed to the exercise's hiatus. However, the 50th anniversary of the air-to-air event was worth the wait.

"Most of us work in a competitive environment, but seldom actually get to experience the nerves and pressure associated with true competition," said Capt. Travis Hazeltine of the 19th Fighter Squadron, Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. "William Tell gives you a chance to experience that and the opportunity to perform accordingly."
