UPDATE: NAFTA SUPERHIGHWAY NOT DEAD!

Rumors of the death of the Trans-Texas Corridor (TTC) have been greatly exaggerated, writes Mark Anderson in today's AFP Online and in the current print issue of American Free Press.

"The announcement by TxDOT Executive Director Amadeo Saenz at the Texas Transportation Forum that the 'Trans Texas Corridor, as it was originally envisioned, is no more,' is just another in a series of comments to lead opponents into believing the Trans Texas Corridor is indeed dead. [Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom, or] TURF believes this is a deliberate move to dupe opponents into complacency, and we expect iron-clad action before we begin celebrating victory," TURF founder Terri Hall informed American Free Press in a news release Jan. 7.

What's the big deal about the TTC? The TTC would be a major part of the NAFTA Superhighway, which is being created for the purpose of facilitating the flood of cheap foreign imports into the United States. It would also help bypass U.S. inspection stations -- a dangerous proposition considering the toxins that have been found in toys and food made in China recently.
