APDeveloper Larry SilversteinNEW YORK -- A financing dispute again threatens to delay construction at the World Trade Center site, according to a report in The New York Times.
The report said the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey remains at odds with developer Larry Silverstein, who held the lease when the twin towers fell Sept. 11, 2001 and holds right to build on portions of the site. The Port Authority is building 1 World Trade Center, a $3 billion, 1,776-foot-tall skyscraper, plus other sections of the site.
