Beirut, Oct 14: Reiterating his contention that the 9/11 attacks were orchestrated, the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has announced the launch of a probe into the Sep 11 'events'.
The President, on a visit to Lebanon, toured Shia Muslim strongholds of south Beirut, the report added.
Ahmadinejad has, several times, in the past argued that the Sep 11, 2001 attacks were not what the United States makes it look like.

Ahmadinejad's assertion of the same at the UN General Assembly, prompted the US as well as the United Kingdom to stage a walk out in Sep 2010.

The Iranian president claimed "most nations" believed the US government was behind the Sep 11 attacks, citing a theory "that some segments within the US government orchestrated the attack to reverse the declining American economy, and its grips on the Middle East, in order to save the Zionist regime."

"The majority of the American people as well as most nations and politicians around the world agree with this view," he added.

Even before his statement at the United Nations, Ahmadinejad had made the same claim in March 2010 two days ahead of his official trip to Afghanistan.

The Iranian state media had quoted him as saying that the 9/11 attacks were a "big lie" intended to pave the way for the invasion of a war-torn nation.

Meanwhile, in a parallel universe, a massive aerosol spraying campign was initiated circe 1996, just a few years before Al Gore began giving lectures on the dangers of AGW. Despite this massive and obvious attack on the atmosphere by jet tankers there's been no acknowledgement or prediction of consequences announced by the UN/IPCC. Two weeks ago, President Ahmadinejad of Iran called for a UN investigation of 9/11. He was called a lunatic by President Obama. Now, Fox News, new owner of Farsi 1, Iran’s biggest entertainment network, has blown the lid off 9/11, calling it a “whitewash” and saying that the 9/11 Commissioners staged a coverup.
What can we say we have proven? Can we prove Israel was involved? No. Can we make a case, based on both direct testimony, documentary and circumstantial evidence, that they were involved and that failing to investigate this is part of a conspiracy? Yes.
Do we have to prove how it was done? No. Was Osama bin Laden involved? We don’t know. It depends. The only way he could have been involved is if he were still working for the CIA and under their control.

It has also been no stranger to conflict. The conflict that besets the station today, however, could remake KPFA into something quite different than listeners have come to depend upon for decades. The outcome of the current local station board election will determine what the station will look like a year from now. And it will determine whether the KPFA programs that listeners tune into in the greatest numbers will remain at all—programs like Letters to Washington, Against the Grain, and even the Morning Show.
The slate that I am part of, SaveKPFA, believes that in a moment when professional reporting has become an endangered species in America, KPFA should set the standard for critical, ethical journalism. Consistently high quality programming takes labor and resources, as well as a commitment to fairness, accuracy, and a willingness to ferret out the truth. Radical journalism is ethical journalism.
Our opponents revile professional journalism and openly have stated that they would like to get rid of the unionized staff at KPFA. They have long argued for a mainly volunteer station, where the door is wide open to 9/11 “truthers” of all stripes, Lyndon LaRouchites, and those who argue the government is spraying “chemtrails” on the U.S. population as a form of mind control. Unfortunately for Media Alliance, it is against the law for the director of a non-profit to use its resources for personal gain. That’s a very serious matter for a 501c3 non-profit. The members of Media Alliance, as well as KPFA, deserve better.
Last month in the Huffington Post, Rosenberg published an article in which she attacked the slate that I am running with, SaveKPFA. In a story on the lack of truthfulness in journalism, she inaccurately accused the slate’s members of circulating misleading information about an event they were holding. Bizarrely, what Ms Rosenberg neglected to disclose in her piece on media ethics was that she is, in fact, a candidate running against the folks that she assailed. In other words, she failed to reveal her personal interest in having these candidates lose—an enormous breach of journalistic ethics.
If these breaches were not astounding enough, Rosenberg bought a website with our slate's domain name and deceptively posted an endorsement for her own slate on it. When challenged, she said that we might be able to get the domain name--if we named a price. This unethical practice, of extracting ransom money for a domain name, was the recent subject of a NY Times article and is called “cybersquatting.” Needless to say, we refused to bow to such extortion.
KPFA listeners need to ask themselves whether they would entrust the station’s governance to people with such a flagrant disregard for ethics.

Within a few weeks of 9/11, independent journalists using mainstream news sources had pieced together a mountain of evidence that proved beyond reasonable doubt that Team Bush had full foreknowledge of 9/11 and allowed the "attacks" to happen to create the pretext to seize the Middle East oil fields.
In early 2002, Norman Solomon and David Corn of The Nation waged a smear campaign against these efforts. This gave the Bush regime critical assistance at its most vulnerable point by scaring away much of the peace movement from Bush's Achilles heel. Their attacks ignored the documented, specific warnings from US allies that 9/11 was imminent, the "put option" stock trades on United and American airlines just before 9/11, and the suppression of FBI agents who had figured out what was coming. Solomon campaigned for censorship at Pacifica Radio (KPFA in Berkeley) on these themes, and a few months later got to go on a US government sponsored trip to Iraq. Meanwhile, non-embedded peace activists were threatened with felony prosecutions for visiting Iraq. . . Solomon had a hassle free trip to Iraq a few months after his attacks on Pacifica / KPFA radio for daring to air web journalist Michael Ruppert and his articles attacking Ruppert for daring to document federal foreknowledge of 9/11.
Even worse, Solomon's compatriot in the "Get Ruppert" campaign of the foundation-funded liberal "alternative" media, David Corn, has a long history in trying to scuttle investigations of this nature.
* Corn wrote a biography about CIA dirty trickster Ted Shackley called "Blond Ghost," which sidestepped the allegations about Shackley's involvement in the heroin trade during the Vietnam War. Even the New York Times had to apologize to Allen Ginsberg many years ago for calling him nuts for making the CIA-heroin allegation - and the CIA 1998 inspector general report essentially confirmed that Gary Webb had been correct.
* Corn lept to the defense of the Agency after Gary Webb's 1996 expose in the San Jose Mercury News about the CIA's involvement in cocaine smuggling during the 1980s "Contra" war on Nicaragua.
* After attacking Ruppert, Corn then moved on to attack the large peace rallies last fall as being too leftist www.counterpunch.org/cockburn1114.html yet didn't do anything constructive to organizing anything less leftist. It fits the tried and true COINTELPRO model.
In David Corn's articles attacking Mike Ruppert, he ignored virtually all of the evidence and then had the nerve to say there wasn't any evidence that supported the conclusion (of US government foreknowledge of 9/11), which is intellectually dishonest.
Neither Corn nor Solomon have written about the independent 9/11 investigations since making their attack on Ruppert in early 2002 (just at the point that Bush was starting to be vulnerable on the issue, thus doing the unelected President a huge favor). If Ruppert's work is so terrible that it needs a liberal group think coordinated campaign to ensure that none of us listen to it, then why wasn't there any follow-up, especially in the wake of the Deception Dollar campaign?

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad might be wearing out his 9/11-was-a-government-conspiracy shtick a bit, but not for a lack of some serious, inappropriate rhetorical questioning. After making his annual "don't-take-me-seriously" speech at the United Nations General Assembly on Thursday, he held a press conference yesterday calling on the U.N. to form a committee to get to the bottom of 9/11 once and for all: "Don't you feel that the time has come to have a fact finding committee?"
Ahmadinejad continued with his line of hard rhetorical questioning: "An event occurred, and under the pretext of that event two countries were invaded and up to now hundreds of thousands of people have been killed as a result. Don't you feel that that excuse has to be revised? Why do you assume that all nations must accept what the US government tells them?" Although, perhaps the real question he was asking was, "Will you please pay attention to me, please, just a little longer, please?" If he really does care about learning all he can about 9/11, the least he could do is get the facts straight from the Mayor of 9/11 Town, Rudy Giuliani, before taking up our ear space with his bullshit.
During a less useless meeting, Ahmadinejad had a private conversation with Sarah Shourd, the American hiker who was imprisoned in Tehran for 14 months. "While I was in prison, I pleaded for the chance to speak with President Ahmadinejad in order to clear up any misunderstanding that led to our detention" she said. It's a good thing he was finally able to find a break in his schedule from offending President Obama and 9/11 families to do so!

Here is the latest action by Prof. Anthony J. Hall and I : We were so disgusted with Prof. Michael Shermer's lack of knowledge about 9/11 that we were compelled to intervene during his parodic lecture at the University of Lethbridge last night.
Shermer purports to be a skeptic (his magazine is named "Skeptic Magazine") who has read "ALL of David Ray Griffin's books" (DRG is actually his colleague at the Clairmont Graduate School ). However, Shermer is clearly somebody who has never engaged with any of the critiques of the government narrative about 9/11, a subject which he nonetheless talks about authoritatively to public audiences, conflating 9/11 truth-seekers with UFO spotters, Holocaust Deniers under the rubric of "conspiracy theorists".
As part of his deliberately satirical analysis he showed the audience cross-sections of the human brain indirectly implying that "conspiracy theorists" think how they do due to their biological makeup which harkens back to the notorious days when cities like Lethbridge and the wider hinterland of Alberta were leading the way in the eugenics movement. Like Sebastian Junger and Christopher Hitchens Shermer is somebody who serves the war machine's agenda by poisoning the public consciousness of our society. He has blood on his hands for his role in depoliticizing society, enabling the murderous 9/11 Wars.
We attempted to expose him as somebody who was profiting from the official story of 9/11. A true "conspiracy entrepreneur" indeed. Like Hitchens he declares himself to be a materialist and sombody cocnerned with scientific reasoning. Yet, like Hitchens, when science becomes politically inconvenient he reverts back to government-sanctioned superstition whilst at the same time showing cross-sections of the brain and comedic imagery to audiences to convince them he is an authority on subjects which he is in fact seemingly ignorant of.
When I asked him to name one of DRG's books, all of which he purports to have read, he could not. When I asked him to name one academic who has defended the government conspiracy theory he cited himself. Shermer's comedy show was not worthy of an educated audience in a Canadian University. Prof. Hall should be acknowledged for making sure we attended the event and for speaking the truth in front of his colleagues many of whom sniggered like sophomoric school children. One of the U of L professors in the audience implied that I was an "asshole" (that's ARSE-hole for the British recipients of this email). The behaviour of these quack-a-demics speaks volumes about the state of the academy in the 9/11 induced Age of Impunity and Superstition.
I stayed up until 4am editing the attached You Tube video last night so that it could be posted within hours.
